About Undersheriff Thomas J. Dellane


On September 9, 2024, Thomas J. Dellane was appointed as Undersheriff by Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy. Undersheriff Dellane is in charge of the Police Academy and Professional Standards, in the Sheriff’s Office.

Undersheriff Thomas Dellane retired as Chief of Police and Emergency Management Coordinator from the Stafford Township Police Department on March 1, 2024, after 36 years of service to the residents of Stafford Township.

Undersheriff Dellane received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Stockton University and his Juris Doctorate Law Degree from Rutgers University – Camden School of Law and has been a member of the New Jersey Bar Association since 1999.

Undersheriff Dellane served as the Chair for the Middle Atlantic Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network (MAGLOCLEN) until his retirement from Stafford Township Police Department.

Undersheriff Dellane has served as a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Policy Center Advisory Group since 1996 and is a graduate of the 261st session of the FBI National Academy.

Undersheriff Dellane served as President of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police in 2022 and was appointed by Chief Justice Stuart Rabner to the Joint Committee on Criminal Justice Reform in 2023 and was appointed by Governor Phil Murphy as one of fourteen members of the Interagency Working Group on Body Worn Cameras in 2020.
